OCP Contractors Partners with Local Children’s Charity

November 5, 2019 – OCP Contractors in Columbus recently partnered with After-School All-Stars Ohio [ASAS Ohio], a chapter of the leading national organization that provides free, comprehensive after-school programs for at-risk children in some of Ohio’s most under served communities.

In September, after learning more about the mission of ASAS Ohio and the struggles of the families it serves, OCP Contractors wanted to get involved. For ASAS Ohio’s new fall fundraiser, “Casino Night at the Scarlet Room”, OCP Contractors signed up to be the top sponsor. Over 150 guests enjoyed a night of Vegas-style games, food, & raffle prizes while raising needed funds for the afterschool program. As a result of the fundraiser, ASAS Ohio was able to admit more students into the program.

OCP didn’t stop there, though. With Thanksgiving approaching, OCP Contractors stepped up again to help ASAS Ohio. Many families in the All-Star program cannot afford the traditional Thanksgiving meal often depicted on television. To help change that, OCP Contractors purchased enough food to provide 50 Thanksgiving meals for ASAS Ohio families in need. Each meal provided food for a family of four.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have the support of OCP Contractors,” shared Tracy Ensign, Executive Director of ASAS Ohio. “Brian Stone and his employees truly want to make a difference and value giving back to the commuity.”

After-School All-Stars is a national after-school program founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1992. It was first introduced to Columbus in 2000 and later expanded into Toledo and Cleveland. ASAS provides free, comprehensive after-school programming for at-risk youth. Programming focuses on academics, health and fitness, and enrichment activities.
